Developer API and AI agents (MCP)

Let other software, and AI assistants, read and manage your bookings.

What it is

Bookatu has a public REST API and an MCP server. The API lets other software work with your business data, and the MCP server lets AI assistants like ChatGPT or Claude check availability and book on a client's behalf.

Why it helps

Future clients will ask an AI assistant to 'book me a haircut Saturday', and this is how that assistant talks to your calendar. The API also lets you connect Bookatu to other tools you use.

How to use it

  1. 1At a high level the public API can read your business details, services, staff and availability, create a booking, manage your customers, and read, create or cancel appointments.
  2. 2Create an API key under Settings, API keys, and use it to authenticate your requests.
