SMS text reminders and the Solo SMS add-on

Send reminders and confirmations by text, not just email, to cut no-shows hardest.

What it is

Reminders and confirmations can go to clients by text message as well as by email. A text is read within minutes, so it is the channel that cuts no-shows the hardest.

Why it helps

SMS lands on the lock screen and gets opened almost every time, far more than email. For the appointments you most need people to remember, a text is the surest nudge.

How to use it

  1. 1Who gets SMS: the Studio, Pro and Scale plans include text reminders. On the Solo plan you can switch them on as a low-cost monthly add-on. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
  2. 2Each plan comes with a monthly text allowance, a fair-use limit. There is a cap because every text has a real cost to send over the phone networks, unlike email which is effectively free.
  3. 3If you reach the allowance, SMS pauses for the rest of the month and your email reminders keep going automatically, so clients are never left unreminded. The allowance resets at the start of the next month.
  4. 4Turn SMS reminders on under Settings, Reminders. On the Solo plan, buy the add-on from your billing settings.
  5. 5Texts show your business name, and clients can reply STOP to opt out at any time, which keeps you on the right side of messaging rules.
